10 Worst Netflix Movies 2020

Everybody likes a good movie, but for some of us, nothing hist the spot like a movie that’s so bad it’s good. For those of you bad movie bingers out there, here are the Scioto County Daily News’s official top 10 WORST movies on Netflix.

So Undercover

We’re starting off this list with a Miley Cyrus flick. “So Undercover” stars Miley as an undercover agent tasked with protecting the daughter of a mobster. This mobster just so happens to be in a college sorority, so Miley Cyrus has to somehow manage to act like a dumb college girl. Needless to say, she pulls that part off a lot better than the role of the private investigator, making for an oddly disjointed but entertaining watch.

The Last Airbender

The Last Airbender was a film with everything behind. The cartoon it’s based on is loved by audiences and critics, and its director, M. Night Shyamalan, was well-known in the industry for hit movies like “Sixth Sense”. A combination of boring effects and laughably awful child acting turns this hopeful adaptation into a lesson in disappointment and absurdity.

Truth or Dare

Horror films are some of the worst perpetrators of hilariously bad acting, and Truth or Dare is no exception. The film’s title basically says everything you need to know, a group of college kids get stuck in a deadly game of truth or dare. The concept isn’t bad, but it is made truly awful by the character’s lack of thinking skills. Nearly everyone in the film performs every stupid action possible while avoiding any logical thought, making it hard to feel bad for them, and easy to enjoy the film’s many flaws.

True Memoirs of an International Assassin

Kevin James is a… controversial actor, to say the least. While some people find him funny, others consider his humor to be more juvenile than entertaining. While some of his films make for a nice watch, True Memoirs of an International Assassin is not one of them. The film features Kevin as a writer turned assassin stumbling his way through action scenes, which can be pretty fun for a bad movie watcher.

When We First Met

The problem with When We First Met is that it chooses to do absolutely nothing new. It steals its hook from Groundhog’s Day, 50 First Dates, etc. and it features boring scenes that only the most die-hard rom-com lover would bother to fight through.

The Package

The Package starts off with a funny premise, but the plot is unable to keep up and the young actors aren’t able to maintain the humor after the first twenty minutes, leading to a boring watch that struggles to maintain any amusement.

Mascots

Apparently, someone at Netflix thought that audiences would be drawn to a film about sports mascots, but they were mistaken. The film is meant to be a mockumentary, and it features a stellar veteran cast, but it is still unable to maintain itself as a genuine film and is much more entertaining as a cringe-filled mistake of a movie.

Bright

Bright was meant to be Netflix’s first huge blockbuster film, and it was also meant to be another hit for Will Smith, but it is considered by many to be the worst film of 2017. It is absolutely hilarious to watch when considering the amount of money that was put into it compared to the quality of the film.

Death Note

Death Note is another failed adaptation, similar to The Last Airbender, and just like the Shyamalan flick, it is an absolute disappointment to fans of the original show, but it is still incredible to watch if you enjoy a bad movie on occasion.

The Ridiculous Six

This “comedy” film is meant to be a parody of “The Hateful Eight”, but it chooses to be as lazy as humanly possible with jokes placed in purely to be offensive that end up just making you groan. This film is one of Adam Sandler’s laziest, and because of that, SCDN places it as the WORST movie on Netflix as of 2020.
