100 MPH Police Chase Ends with No Arrest

It all started just after 10 am on Saturday in the 700 block of 11th Street. The driver took off at a high rate of speed and headed north on 239 before going west on Slab Run. Then he headed north on 181 before turning onto a gravel drive and ramming into gates.

Officers located the vehicle near Nauvoo-Pond Creek Road at 12:11 pm, and the driver took off running toward the woods.

Later that evening, witnesses at the Speedway on Galena Pike reported a suspicious man in a black hoodie asking for rides. Officers suspected it could be the man involved in the chase, but he’d left the scene by the time units were able to respond.
