A man accused of attacking two Scioto County corrections officers inside the county jail has now been formally indicted on six felony charges.
The Scioto County Grand Jury indicted Dimitrius Anglen, 31, of Euclid, on two counts of felonious assault, strangulation, aggravated robbery and two counts of kidnapping.
The charges stem from an alleged attack inside the Scioto County Jail on September 26.
Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman previously said Anglen attacked one corrections officer during rounds, repeatedly striking him in the face and allegedly going through his pockets and taking items.
When a second officer rushed in to help, investigators said Anglen attacked that officer as well and placed his forearm across the officer’s throat until he lost consciousness.
Both officers were taken to Southern Ohio Medical Center. One was later transferred to Grant Medical Center for additional treatment.
The new indictment accuses Anglen of knowingly causing serious physical harm to both officers.
A strangulation count alleges he caused serious physical harm or suffocation by strangulation.
The aggravated robbery charge alleges Anglen inflicted or attempted to inflict serious physical harm while committing or attempting a theft offense.
The two kidnapping counts accuse him of restraining the liberty of the two officers by force, threat or deception in order to facilitate felonious assault or escape afterward.
The aggravated robbery charge is a first-degree felony. The felonious assault, strangulation and kidnapping charges are second-degree felonies.
Anglen was already facing a separate case involving an earlier alleged assault while incarcerated.
A previous Scioto County indictment accused him of harassment with a bodily substance, felony assault and misdemeanor assault in connection with an incident at a state correctional institution in December 2025.
Anglen had been housed at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville in connection with an attempted rape case before being paroled in April. He was later jailed in Scioto County while awaiting trial on the earlier charges.
He is scheduled to appear in Scioto County Common Pleas Court for arraignment on December 10.
The charges are allegations. Anglen is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
