They said they were behind a black car with a 9-year-old driving and an adult in the passenger seat. The worker gave officers a license number to follow up on.

Strange Behavior at the Sunoco

Just after 11 am, a Portsmouth Quick Stop Sunoco employee reported a man “acting crazy” in the business. By the time officers arrived on the scene, the man had left the area. An employee provided a license plate number, but when officers searched the tag, they could find no matching results.

Around 7:30 pm, officers responded to Chillicothe Street for a report of a man overdosing behind Bob & Floyd’s Tire Sales in Portsmouth. Officers and EMS responded to the scene and rendered assistance.

A 30th Street caller reported a man walking around on crutches screaming just after 10 pm. Officers caught up with the man at the Super Kwik and took him into custody on an open warrant.

Bad Behavior at Speedway

Officers responded to a number of calls at Speedway involving unusual behavior.

At 3 am, a caller reported a disgusting incident at Speedway on Gallia. They reported someone spit on another person and were bothering a minor. Officers responded to the scene and advised the parties involved.

A man who had previously been barred from Speedway turned up at the store at 11:30 pm and sat down by the door. Officers spoke to the man, and he agreed to leave. However, he returned about an hour later and refused to leave. Police took him into custody.

At 2 am, a Speedway customer said a man wearing camo pants stopped her and said that people were chasing him and trying to harm him. However, when officers responded to the scene, witnesses said they saw the man get into a car and leave earlier.

Another unwanted guest returned to the store just after 8 am, and employees requested police serve him with a barred letter. Police explained to the man he would be arrested if he returned.
