AG Yost Investigates Local Contractor for Shoddy Work and Swindling Thousands

There is an investigation underway by the Ohio Attorney General‘s office involving a local contractor who has made life a living hell for a Lucasville homeowner.

A company called Whitmore’s Home Improvement is at the center of this investigation.

One of Whitmore’s victims contacted SCDN and provided pictures of the work they paid nearly $23,000 to have completed. The work was far from satisfactory, with unfinished electrical components, poorly painted walls, and the drywall dust and debris destroying a furnace unit.

This was supposed to be an interior remodel. In all, the Attorney General has seen more than a dozen photos and videos.

The victim has been unable to contact Keith Whitmore, whose name appears on the documents obtained by SCDN. Calls and mail notifications have not been returned.

The case number of the Ohio Attorney General is 1020029.

Our sources said Whitmore came to Scioto County through a rehab program. It isn’t clear whether he completed treatment, but he decided to stay and start this home improvement company. It is said that he hires workers from rehabilitation programs.

Sources report that Whitmore has a record that includes a violent felony conviction. The victim informed SCDN that they were unaware there was a potential risk of theft and the possible danger for the family as these workers came in and out continuously.
