Allen D. “Buck’ Webb,83, of Franklin Furnace

Allen D. “Buck’ Webb,83, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born November 8, 1937, in Franklin Furnace, a son of the late Allen Webb Sr. and Arizona (Yates) Webb.

He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Regular Primitive Baptist Church where he served as Bookkeeper for over 30 years. Buck was a former manager at Southerland Lumber Co. in Columbus, was a self-employed contractor and was an avid golfer, loved woodworking, and was an avid fan of the Bluegrass Strangers.

He is survived by his wife, Aurora (Osborne) Webb; stepchildren, Ira Bays, and Jimmie Lynn Jordan, Tim Bays and wife Pam all of South Webster and Lori Bays of Wheelersburg; grandchildren, Lacey (Wes) Bame, Justin Bays, Abigail Neal, Ari Conley and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle F. (Collins) Webb; brothers, Arthur Webb, George Webb, Leonard Webb, Oscar Webb, Calvin Webb, Lawrence Webb, and Milford Webb; sisters, Marjorie Cook, Ruby Lawton, Judy Massie, and Patty Davis.

Services will be Friday, January 29, 2021, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe-Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville with interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Franklin Furnace. Visitation will be Thursday 5 to 7 PM and one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
