Ohio is making changes to its AMBER alert system to include more information when it sends out notifications about children in danger.
Until now, the emergency messages have been limited to 90 characters, but that will be tripled to 360 characters thanks to improvements in phone technology.

Previously, messages included basic vehicle information and advised users to check local media for more. The newer alerts will allow more details on the suspect, victim, vehicle, and other important information, as well as a link that directs individuals to a website for more information. Once redirected, you’ll be able to see photos and other pertinent information.
Older phones that can’t get the new, longer message will still get shorter alerts.
