Ambulance Crisis – No Squads Available For 83-Year-Old Patient

A call for help from an 83-year-old patient went unanswered when there were no ambulance crews available to respond.

The call for help came in at 5:59 am, but both EMT Ohio and Portsmouth Ambulance said they did not have any crews available.

Dispatch couldn’t get a response from a rescue squad. When dispatch called the man’s wife back to inform her of the situation, she said she would transport the elderly man to the hospital in their personal vehicle.
