Anita Carol Pollock 83 of Scioto County

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anita Carol Pollock, a beloved teacher, mother, and wife, who left us peacefully on May 23, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on April 20, 1942, in Portsmouth, Ohio, Anita was a lifelong resident of Scioto County, where she dedicated over thirty-two years of her life to nurturing the minds of young students as a special education teacher in the Valley School System.

Anita graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1960, where she was not only known for her academic achievements but also as a talented majorette and the proud recipient of the Miss River Days title. She furthered her education with a Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University and a Master’s Degree from Walden University, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning and her passion for education.

In 1960, Anita married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Pollock. Together, they built a strong and nurturing home filled with love and laughter for their three daughters: Kerry Pollock of Portsmouth, Jodi Pollock of Tucson, AZ and Tami Mucha of Portsmouth. Their marriage spanned over sixty-four years, serving as an inspiring example of partnership and devotion. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughters: Erica (Todd) Koenig of Otway, Sydney (Luke) Mucha-Spradlin of Newport, KY and Olivia Mucha of Portsmouth, one sister, Sherry Kuhn of Portsmouth, as well as niece and nephew, Christine (Adam) Chaffin and Nick (Katie) Baxter both of Portsmouth.

Anita’s zest for life extended beyond the classroom. She enjoyed golfing, boating, playing cards, and traveling, and cherished her time as a snowbird in Tucson, Arizona, where she embraced the sunshine and the vibrant community. Her warmth, kindness, and spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.
