Hundreds of controlled hunting opportunities are available on Ohio’s public lands during this year’s hunting season. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife urged hunters to apply now. Applications will be accepted through Friday, July 31.
Controlled hunts include opportunities for white-tailed deer, waterfowl, mourning doves, and more.
How To Apply
Hunters may apply for the controlled hunts by completing the application process online using Ohio’s Wildlife Licensing System at wildohio.gov. There is a $3 application fee per hunt.
A valid Ohio hunting license is required. Find more information at wildohio.gov on the Controlled Hunts page. Call 1-866-703-1928 and apply for hunts by phone. However, it costs an additional $5.50 service fee to apply over the phone.
Hunters are randomly drawn from submitted applications. Successful applicants will be notified and provided additional hunt information by Monday, Aug. 10. Successful applicants will receive a permit, rules, and hunting area map. The application status can be viewed through Ohio’s Wildlife Licensing System.
