The hunt for a parolee the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction listed as ‘dangerous and possibly armed’ came to an end after officers responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Speedway on Gallia at 3 a.m.

A caller reported a barefoot man was wandering around the store, going into employee-only areas, and refusing to leave. When police arrived at the store, they discovered Luke Ziminski, 28. Ziminski is currently on parole for a burglary charge but had violated the terms of his release.

Though Franklin County is listed as Ziminski’s county of residence, he’s been booked into the Scioto County Jail on 5 previous occasions.

He was released on parole back in late May and hauled into Portsmouth Municipal Court on a theft charge back on August 23. According to court records, Ziminski is homeless.

Between November 2021 and May 2022, he was arrested four times on charges including theft, obstructing official business, open warrants from Franklin County, and multiple counts of parole violation.
