Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS responded to the Patriot Travel Center on St. Rt. 522 after a caller reported an armed man threatening to commit suicide.
Officers had the rescue squad wait at a distance while they investigated.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they secured the weapon and gave the ambulance the all-clear to approach.
The man told deputies he was depressed and agreed to go with medics to SOMC for treatment.
