Armed Men Go Looking For Guy on Ankle Monitor

Shooting threats gun threat

A man who already had issues with the law said he’d been accused of another crime by people who wanted to take justice into their own hands.

The man said several people showed up at his apartment door in Wheelersburg and threatened to kick in the door and shoot him.  He said one of the guys had a gun in his waistband but did not pull it.

The man said the three blamed him for breaking into a home. However, he said he’s on an ankle monitor and not allowed to leave his apartment.

The man’s mom called 911 because she was afraid. However, she didn’t want to press charges. Police said they would step up patrols in the area.

The man called back later that night to say someone was shining flashlights into his windows and trying to get into his apartment.

When officers investigated, he admitted he hadn’t seen anyone, but had spotted the flashlights. He showed officers a text from one of the men who threatened him earlier and gave them the names of the people he said had threatened him.
