Around 4 am, a 5th Street caller reported a man getting into cars and heading toward Offnere. Police caught up with the man, whom they determined had mental health issues. He told them he was walking home to 3rd Street.

A few minutes later, police responded to Speedway for a report of a man who refused to leave the store. Police noted he seemed to have mental health issues. He told them he wasn’t allowed to go home. However, when officers checked in with people at his residence, they said he was fine to come home.

However, officers were called back for the same issue about an hour later. They sent for an ambulance for the man and took several items from him for safekeeping.
