Betty Kay Palmer

Betty Kay Palmer, born January 3, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, to Robert and Elma Palmer, grew up in Southern Ohio. A graduate of Olivet Nazarene College, she dedicated 36 years to teaching in the Portsmouth City School System.

A devoted member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Portsmouth, Ohio, Betty served as a Sunday School teacher, VBS director, Missionary President, youth leader, and pianist.

Betty peacefully passed away in her sleep on June 28, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Larry Robert Palmer. She is survived by her sister, Patty (Harold) Ratliff and niece, Amanda (Rondall) Defevers.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 6, 2026, at Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville, officiated by Dr. Jason Dixon, with interment at Memorial Burial Park. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Betty’s warmth and dedication will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
