The South Webster community continues to mourn the loss of Marc Kreischer, superintendent of Bloom-Vernon Local Schools, as students, staff, families, and neighboring districts rally around one another in the days following his passing.
District officials announced that Mr. Kreischer’s visitation will be held Sunday, February 22, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with funeral services immediately following at 3:00 p.m. The visitation and service will take place in the Bloom-Vernon High School gymnasium, allowing the community he served to come together and celebrate his life.
School leaders invited anyone who knew Mr. Kreischer to attend, noting that he made a profound impact on countless lives both inside and outside the district.
As part of the ongoing mourning period, the Bloom-Vernon boys’ high school basketball game against Valley scheduled for Monday evening has been postponed. A makeup date will be announced later.
A Life Dedicated to Education and Community
According to his obituary, Marc L. Kreischer, 48, passed away on February 15, 2026. A resident of Oak Hill, he was a graduate of Lexington High School, the University of Rio Grande, and Morehead State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, and his Superintendent License.
Kreischer served Bloom-Vernon Local Schools as superintendent since 2014, but his career in education also included roles as a teacher, administrator, and coach in both baseball and basketball. No matter the title, family members and colleagues say he brought the same passion and care to everything he did.
He was known locally not just as an educator, but as a constant presence at school events, athletic competitions, and community gatherings. Friends described him as humble, selfless, and deeply committed to helping others succeed.
Marc was also a faithful member of South Webster Christ Methodist Church, an avid basketball fan, and a dedicated golfer. Above all, he cherished time with his family—especially vacations and watching his children compete in sports.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Haley, daughter Marley, and son Pierce, along with his parents, siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund is being established in his memory to continue supporting South Webster students for years to come. Donations may be made to South Webster High School, care of the Mr. Kreischer Memorial Fund.
An Outpouring of Love

Another shared:
“God, bless all those associated with the Bloom-Vernon district. Continue to wrap your loving and compassionate arms around those with broken hearts. Thank you for an amazing husband, father, son, friend, community leader, and servant.”
As South Webster prepares to gather this weekend, neighbors say they are leaning on one another—grieving together, remembering together, and honoring a man whose legacy will live on through the students, families, and community he loved so deeply.
