Just after 11 pm, a caller reported a possible overdose death at a West Portsmouth home. Deputies and EMS responded to the scene, and medics confirmed the 35-year-old victim was deceased.
Witnesses had last seen the man around 10 am in the morning. Deputies contacted detectives and the Scioto County Coroner’s Office.
Officers notified the next of kin, who was staying somewhere else and preparing to check into a rehab facility. The coroner’s office took possession of the deceased. Officers made sure the dogs on the property had access to food and water.
