Portsmouth Police Officers and the Scioto County Coroner are investigating after a body was discovered in the 1200 block of Linden Ave. Officers have not identified the male victim at this time but say they are investigating it as a suspected homicide.
The area near Speedway is known to be frequented by addicts, aggressive panhandle, and homeless people. Upon hearing of the discovery, relatives of one local homeless man who frequents the area, rushed to the scene to search for him. They were relieved to find him alive and well in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant.
The Coroner took possession of the body and transported it to Montgomery County for a post-mortem examination.

UPDATE
The name of the suspected homicide victim that was found on October 29 in Portsmouth around the 1200 block of Linden Avenue has been released.
The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Chad A. Sissel of 6th Street in Portsmouth.
This is still an active investigation, and police are encouraging the public to help.

SCDN has learned from sources close to the investigation that the body was discovered under a crudely assembled pile of rubbish. This prompted the homicide investigation.
