Body Discovered on 5th Street 

Officers performing a welfare check made a tragic discovery on 5th Street.  

A worried son attempting to contact his father in his apartment contacted police saying he feared the man had passed away.  

Offices and an ambulance responded to the scene, and medics confirmed that the man was indeed deceased.  

Police contacted the coroner, and other officers arrived to assist at the scene. Police secured the apartment when the scene was clear.  

Deputy Saves Overdosing Driver on Enley Road 

A concerned citizen contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office at 2 pm to report a man who appeared to be on drugs sitting in a red truck. The caller feared the man might drive off.  

When a deputy arrived on the scene, they discovered the man had overdosed and immediately administered Narcan to revive the man. 

An ambulance also responded to the scene and transported the overdose victim to the hospital.  

Shots Fired in Franklin Furnace 

Officers responded to Wheelersburg after a woman reported a disturbing incident involving her nephew. She said he was driving in Franklin Furnace when a man came out and shot a gun into the air, chased him in a vehicle, then stopped him and threatened him with a hammer.  

Deputies met up with the victim in the Kroger parking lot. He gave police a description of the suspect and his address.  

Officers interviewed both parties and took information for a report.
