Body Discovered on 6th Street
At 7:44 pm, a worried friend asked officers to check the welfare of a 6th Street woman. The friend said she’d been unable to reach her for a week.
Police checked the home but did not find any exigent circumstances that would allow them to go inside.
Two hours later, friends arrived at the home with a key and asked an officer to check the welfare of the woman.
When the officer went into the home, they discovered that the woman was deceased. PPD contacted the coroner’s office. The coroner’s office sent a transport and took the deceased to a local funeral home.
Drug Users Spotted at the Dollar General
An employee of the Dollar General on Gallia contacted officers at 12:36 pm to report two people doing drugs inside a vehicle in the parking lot.
When officers arrived on the scene, they took a man into custody and transported him to the Scioto County Jail.
