Bomb Squad Called to Hayes Street

A Columbus bomb squad headed to Scioto County after a man made a startling discovery while cleaning out his home. He called 911 to say he’d found an old grenade and wanted a deputy to come check it out as he wanted to keep it.

When the deputy arrived at the Clarktown home, they noted that it appeared to be a live grenade with a pin still in it.

Officers took photos of the grenade and sent it to the Columbus Police Department. CPD dispatched their bomb squad to head to Scioto County to take possession of the grenade.
