Boy Reports Lucasville Pitbull Attack – But It Doesn’t Add Up
Just after 9 pm on Saturday, officers responded to a Lucasville home after a boy claimed neighbor was walking his pit bull, and the dog came after him and ripped his shirt while he was walking to the store.
The boy knew who the pit bull belonged to, and while he and his grandmother didn’t want to press charges, they did ask officers to speak with the dog’s owners.
When officers arrived at the address provided by the victim, the family said the guy the kid claimed was walking the dog had been incarcerated for some time. They also said the dog never leaves the yard unless it’s on a leash.
When a deputy went back to the alleged victim’s home, he changed his story and said the dog broke its chain in the neighbor’s yard and went after him.
Officers took a closer look at the boy’s shirt and determined the tears didn’t appear to have been made by a dog and looked more like they’d been cut into a neat square.
Pit Bull Attack on High Street
A woman contacted Portsmouth Police Officers at 9:24 pm to report her neighbor’s pit bull had attacked her boyfriend and her dog. She said the animal was still running around the area.
When officers arrived on High Street, they learned that the two dogs were fighting and that a man had been bitten when he tried to break them up. He said he did not need medical assistance.
An officer noted a cut under one of the dog’s eyes. Police informed the animals’ owners that animal control would be notified.
Police responded to another call in the area involving a dog at 10:15 pm. A caller said there was a white dog chained up on 17th with a chain so long it allowed the animal to keep running out into the street.
Officers advised the owner to take care of the issues.
