Breaking – Scioto County Man Killed in Pike County – BCI Investigates
Shortly after midnight on Sunday, a Pike County caller initially reported a man lying in the road on St. Rt. 772 covered in blood and said he believed the victim was deceased and had possibly been hit by a car. Dispatch sent deputies and a squad to the scene.
When officers arrived, they found the deceased man lying in the northbound lane. Deputies spoke to a woman on the scene who identified the victim and said he’d been at her home with other individuals, and she’d asked him to make them leave. She said those individuals were now gone, but the victim was now deceased on the road.
Further, officers had been called to the home previously on a complaint that one of the people who’d left the scene had been in her home.
Law enforcement called in the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and there was a large police presence on the scene on Sunday morning.
Law enforcement officials have not issued a statement about the crime or identified the victim publicly. Though SCDN has matched the name deputies mentioned in the scanner traffic as that of a Scioto County man, and multiple individuals have posted about his passing on Facebook.
The investigation is ongoing, and SCDN will have new details as they develop.
