Brenda Jean Emmons, 55

Brenda Jean Emmons

Brenda Jean Emmons, 55 was called home on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at her home surrounded by loving family after a courageous year and a half health battle.

Brenda was born in Coshocton, Ohio on November 23, 1968, to Jack and Rita (Belt) Ridgway.

Jack (Velma) survives in Byesville, Ohio and Rita passed on October 24, 2019. Brenda married the love of her life, her lobster, Jeff Emmons and celebrated 32 anniversaries together. Jeff survives in Lucasville.

Brenda was a 1987 graduate of Newcomerstown High School. She attended Buckeye Joint Vocational School where she completed the Early Childhood Development Program.

In addition to her daddy and husband, Brenda is survived by her children: her son and bonus daughter Nyle (Stephanie) Emmons of Portsmouth Ohio, her daughter Michaela Emmons of Lucasville, Ohio and her daughter and bonus son, Lydia (Kyle) Butler of Lucasville, Ohio; her sister by heart and her lifelong best friend, Teresa (Hickman) Purtell of Eastlake, Ohio; her niece, who she cherished and adored as much as one of her children, Caitlynne Marie Woolweaver of Lowelville, Ohio; and her everything good and beautiful first born granddaughter, Kyleigh Grace Emmons and her everything good and beautiful and youngest granddaughter, Adley Rae Riffe.

Unfortunately, in Brenda’s life, she had known some deep loss. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ashton Noel Ridgway on May 13, 1988; her niece, Breanna Nicole Ridgway in October 1990; and her mother, Rita Ridgway on October 24, 2019.

Brenda’s world revolved around her children and grand-loves. They were her best friends and greatest joys. Her favorite role was being “Mamaw” and “Naw” to Kyleigh and Adley. Kyleigh, her blue-eyed girl, took her heart by surprise with overwhelming love and kept her laughing and smiling. Adley, her green-eyed girl, was the missing puzzle piece that brought her so much happiness. They both made her heart so full. “I’ll love you until the end of forever.” Brenda will be remembered for her hard, fierce and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her energy was infectious and unmatched and will forever be missed.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2024, at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway with Pastor Bob Davis officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
