Burglar Shot on Pershing Avenue
An alleged burglar was shot on Pershing Avenue on Saturday, just hours after officers investigated a previous break-in report.
On Friday, police responded to the home after the owner of a camper reported finding a stranger living in it. At that time, officers took information for a report.
Just before 2 pm on Saturday, a resident of the home called the police to say her husband shot a man in the leg as he was breaking in.
Officers and EMS responded to the scene. Police took photos and gathered information for a report. The shooting victim was taken to SOMC and then on to a Columbus hospital. Investigators drove to Columbus to continue the investigation.
