Burglars Hit Wheelersburg Home Twice in Two Days

Scioto County deputies were called to the same Green Street home in Wheelersburg twice in two days after reports that a man and woman were targeting the residence. The first call involved a burglary that had just happened. While deputies were on the way, dispatchers said the reporting party had identified two possible suspects and reported they were last seen walking on Ainsley Avenue. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate them at that time. The next day, deputies were called back to the same Green Street home. This time, the caller reported that a man and woman had walked into the residence and stolen money from the caller’s mother’s purse. According to the sheriff’s log, the woman came to the door and asked for water and a charger. When the resident went to get those items, the couple allegedly let themselves into the home and stole money from the purse. That is what makes this one especially bold. The next day, another report that the same home had been entered again, this time after someone used a request for help to get the door open. At one point, deputies asked for permission to force entry at a location, but that request was denied, and units were told to fall back. Deputies later made contact with a man who had a valid warrant out of Lawrence County. Lawrence County took custody of him near the Franklin Furnace exit. Deputies also checked a Cherry Street address where the couple reportedly lived, but no contact was made there. Later, deputies located the couple’s vehicle in the Kroger parking lot and returned to Green Street to speak with the reporting party.
