A couple of strange calls just hours apart had folks in one Lucasville area on edge.
It started when a worried dad called 911 after his kids got home and found the back door wide open. Nobody was supposed to be there, and that’s the kind of thing that’ll make your stomach drop.
When deputies arrived, the kids said the door was already open when they walked in. A deputy checked the house from top to bottom but didn’t find any signs of a break-in.
There was one thing that looked a little off at first—clothes had been pulled out of the dryer. But the kids explained they had done that earlier in the day because their parents asked them to.
The parents did have someone in mind who they thought might be involved, but deputies said there just wasn’t any evidence to back that up. The family planned to review their home security cameras and follow up if anything turns up.
Then, just a few hours later and not far from that first call, another resident reported something just as unsettling. She told deputies someone had crawled out of her dumpster and walked around behind it.
Deputies checked the area but didn’t find anyone.
No arrests were made in either situation, and nothing confirmed tied the two calls together. Still, it was enough to make for a tense night in the neighborhood.
If you come home to an open door or something that doesn’t feel right, don’t go inside—call it in first. It’s always better to be cautious than caught off guard.
