A sneaky sparkle swiper is facing the long arm of the law thanks to some 🔥 five-star investigative work 🔥 by deputies.
It all began when a local couple noticed something was seriously wrong. While checking on their wedding bands, the woman opened her armoire and gasped — their wedding rings and a treasure trove of bling were GONE! 😱
Among the missing:
💍 A ladies 10K yellow gold wedding band
💍 A men’s 10K gold wedding band
💍 A white gold 10K diamond ring
💍 A 10K gold & ½ carat diamond cluster ring
💎 10K gold diamond earrings
💎 10K gold diamond hoop earrings
Total estimated value? Around $1,300 worth of memories and sparkle.
But this wasn’t just a random robbery. The couple pointed fingers at a the only person left alone in the house when they stepped out to grab a U-Haul on May 23rd. 🛻
That’s when the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office went full detective mode. 💼🕵️♂️ Using LeadsOnline — a tool for tracking pawned items — deputies traced the suspect’s name and BOOM 💥: Jackpot.
Turns out the woman had been on a mini pawn-shop spree, unloading stolen jewelry at Jewelry Gold & Pawn in Huntington, WV.
🗓️ May 23rd: She pawned a men’s gold wedding band and necklace for $75.
🗓️ May 27th: She returned to pawn even more loot — including the ½ carat diamond cluster ring and a women’s 10K gold wedding band — scoring another $200.
Deputies immediately contacted the pawn shop and had them place a hold on the stolen goods. Meanwhile, they alerted the devastated couple to rush over and confirm if the items were theirs.
The next day the owner confirmed it — the pawned pieces were indeed her beloved jewelry, including a necklace she didn’t even realize was missing. She was able to buy back several pieces, including one wedding ring and the cluster ring. 💸💔
