Scioto County had its hands full on June 26, 2025, with 88 calls dispatched to sheriff’s deputies, medics, and fire crews. From medical emergencies to vehicle mishaps, alarms, and criminal complaints, the action was nonstop across the county.
🚑 Medical & EMS Calls Dominate the Day
The majority of calls involved medical assistance. Emergency squads were dispatched for a wide variety of health issues:
- Wendy’s in Lucasville, Clayton Court, Dunlap Road, and SOMC Urgent Care were among the many locations where patients were transported.
- Several incidents, including at Calverts Lane, Big Bear Creek Road, and John Street, required ambulance assistance.
- A suicide attempt on Millers Run-Fallen Timber Road involved multiple first responders and ended with the individual being safely transported.
🚓 Criminal Reports Across the Map
Local law enforcement responded to numerous crimes:
- Theft was reported on Evelyn Avenue and Swauger Valley Road, with deputies taking formal reports.
- Burglaries were called in at Sugar Camp-Jackson Fork Road and Pleasant Valley Apartments.
- Threats and harassment incidents were investigated on Furnace Creek Road, Wendy’s Wheelersburg, and Highland Drive.
- A prowler was reported on Gladys Street, and an assault occurred at Wheelersburg Pool, though the suspect was gone when deputies arrived.
- A domestic call on Camp Street ended in an arrest.
🚨 Alarms and False Alarms
False or accidental alarm drops took up significant response time, with reports at:
- Dollar General in Franklin Furnace
- Bloom Freewill Baptist Church
- Rubyville Community Church
- Mohawk Drive, Green Street, and several residential addresses
All were deemed false alarms or resolved without further issue.
🚗 Traffic Warnings, Road Hazards, and Vehicle Issues
Deputies issued multiple traffic warnings and responded to road hazards:
- Rhodes Avenue, US Hwy 23, and Lucasville-Minford Road saw warnings issued.
- Traffic jams were reported at Big Bear Creek Road, State Route 73, US Hwy 23/Cook Road, and Haverhill-Ohio Furnace Road.
- Disabled vehicles were also found along the route.
🐾 Animal Complaints and Mental Health Crises
- An animal complaint came from the State Route 776 area but the animal was not located.
- Deputies handled several mental health-related calls, including one at Blue Run County Road and another at Big Bear Creek Road.
