Caelem Matthew Knauff, 24, of Peebles, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Adena Pike Medical Center in Waverly, Ohio. He was born July 11, 1999, in Hillsboro, Ohio, to Jessica Shell (W. Casey Ott) of Peebles and Jonathan Knauff.
Also surviving are his brothers, Graedan Moore and Clayton Knauff; grandparents, Brad and Lynn Allen, Mike and Tammy Shell, and John “Pap” Knauff; uncle, Steven (Keiah) Shell; aunt, Heather Mills; special cousins, Logan, Chase, Cameron, Cade, Cash, and Kyler “Hoot”; fur baby, Gypsy; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joyce Knauff.
Caelem graduated from Piketon High School in 2018 and is a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army based in Fort Carson, Colorado. He was a true American patriot with a heart of gold and an infectious smile who loved spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2024, at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly, with Pastor Ty Myers officiating. Military honors will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
