You may have seen the social media post going around where a woman reported seeing a child under the age of 12 driving a vehicle around Wheelersburg. She described the car and hoped to warn the child’s parents that he was using their vehicle.
Someone also contacted law enforcement with the same concerns. Since the Ohio State Patrol had no troopers nearby, they asked deputies to check into the issue.
After searching for about half an hour, deputies located the driver. Turns out he was a 16-year-old licensed driver.
Traffic Stop Nets Two Wanted Men
A traffic stop at the Dash Thru on Gallia Street at 10 am led to the arrest of two wanted men. Portsmouth Police Officers stopped the vehicle in the 2500 block of Gallia and discovered there were open warrants for the men in the vehicle.
One man had open warrants from both the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office and New Boson Police Department for contempt and driving under a suspension.
Police arrested a second man for driving under the influence and failure to appear in court. Both men were taken to the Scioto County Jail.
