Campers Kicked Out of Franklin Furnace Campground

Deputies responded to Franklin Furnace just before 11 a.m. for a report of angry campers attempting to fight with the management at a Franklin Furnace campground.

The management told the campers they no longer wanted them on the campground. Officers explained that they needed to leave the campground and not return or face a criminal trespassing charge.

Officers told the campers they must move their camper off the property ASAP. The management said if the campers couldn’t pick up the camper, they would move it to the parking lot for them.

Deputies advised them to call officers when they returned for the camper to avoid any conflict. The residents took some personal property and a cat from the camper and left the area.
