4th District Court of Appeals Candidate Stacy Brooks Interview

Candidate Stacy Brooks

I recently got the opportunity to speak with Stacy Brooks, a judiciary candidate running for the position of 4th District Court of Appeals Judge. Some of you may remember a few weeks ago, when I spoke to the current judge in this position, Kristy Wilkin. The two will be running against each other in the November general election for this position.

Stacy has worked as an attorney for most of her professional life, working throughout Southeastern Ohio and even starting her own law firm in Chillicothe. She has also worked in public service as a board member and union president.

One thing that Stacy really wanted to stress in her interview that while she does have political views and personal experiences that she is open with, she believes that if she were appointed to judge, it would be her responsibility to separate her political views from her judgments in order to make unbiased decisions. She also emphasizes the importance of voting in this election, regardless of which side you’re on, as it is a part of every citizen’s civic duty.

The coronavirus has had a major effect on the way that candidates campaign and Stacy’s campaign has been no different. She expressed the difficulty of reaching out to voters, and how that made interviews and small gatherings very important.

When asked to boil her campaign down to one word, Mrs.Brooks stated that it would be integrity. If she were elected, she intends to uphold the position with respect for the office and the citizens that she serves.
