Carol Louise Mays, 82, of Sciotoville

Carol Louise Mays, 82, of Sciotovile, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at SOMC Hospice Center surrounded by her family. She was born  October 30, 1939, in Catlettsburg, KY a daughter of the late Marshall and Carrie (Wilson) Bocook.

She was a longtime member of Sand Hill Christian Baptist Church, worked for the former Williams Shoe Factory and retired from Heritage Square where she was a dietitian. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch watching people go by and loved to visit and talk with anyone that would stop. She loved her family and grandchildren very much.

Carol is survived by three sons, Carlos (Rick) Mays and wife Michelle of Wheelersburg, Scott Mays of Sciotoville, Brian Mays and wife Brenda of Sciotoville; two sisters, Patricia Lavender of Franklin Furnace and Marsha Bocook of Wheelersburg; grandchildren, Ericka and Jon Eldridge, Megan and Shay Lore, Zac, Madie, Jenna, Carly, Ashlyn and Elizabeth Mays; great grandchildren, Averie Eldridge and Bowen Lore.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Mays whom she married on May 25, 1962 in Wheelersburg and two brothers, Bill and Joe Bocook.

Funeral services will be 12 Noon Monday, January 10, 2022, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with Pastor Jared Timberlake officiating. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 5 to 8 PM and Monday 11 AM to 12 Noon at the funeral home.
