Charles Kammer went home to The Lord on Wednesday December 25th, 2024 at home surrounded by family that he adored. He was born in Portsmouth Ohio on April 10th, 1947 to the late William and Francis Kammer.
Charles worked and retired from National Geographic’s. He was a light to his friends and family and everyone around him. He enjoyed fishing, working on vehicles, and cooking.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by the love of his life Grace Kammer, his siblings Delores (Gene) Finley, Billy (Dwight)Porter, Barb (Johnny)Journey, Cecil (Jacqueline) Kammer, Freda (Jimmy) Ross and Thelma Rouley.
He is survived by his daughter Jacqueline Patterson, his step daughter Tammy (Bob) Greenwald, his grandchildren Bobby Greenwald, Charleigh (Aaron) Wille, Samantha (Thaine) Peyton, Brock (Michael) Pearson, Trenten Jones, Titus Jones, his great grandchildren Coven, Knox, Arric, Aikyn, Colbie, Josie and baby Peyton due in August 2025, his brothers Tom (Deanna) Kammer, Robert Kammer, his sister Dorothy( Carl)Smith and his best friend, his Dachshund, Beanie.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday starting at 12:00 PM Noon. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the funeral home.
