Charles Street Cat Feud Heats Up

Charles Street Cat Feud Heats Up

An ongoing feud between Charles Street neighbors regarding live cat traps heated up again just after 6 pm. One neighbor reported to officers that the other neighbor took down his fence and came onto his property to take a picture of a live trap on his patio.

He put the fence back up, but it was not quite secure. The neighbors told police their cat came up missing, and when they searched for the animal, they found it in a live trap on the neighbor’s patio. They told officers they took the picture of the trap from the alley and not from the man’s property. The couple denied taking down the fence.

Both parties told police there was a TPO in place. Officers advised them to avoid each other as much as they can.

Police dealt with another complaint sparked by a fight over a cat just before 10 am. A woman contacted officers to complain about false Facebook posts regarding her criminal record. She said it was a result of an ongoing dispute over cats.

Officers explained that it was a public forum and not direct threats had been made, so there was nothing they could do.
