Charlotte Mae Toppins, 72, of Wheelersburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, surrounded by family at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born April 11, 1952, in Portsmouth, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Robert Paris and Anna Loretta Andrews Fairchild.

On July 19, 1977, she married Thomas Carl Toppins in Portsmouth. The couple had been married for nine years at the time of his death on December 11, 1986.

Charlotte worked as a sales associate at Big Lots for 18 years. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and loved traveling with her family, and music-especially country music. She was an avid OSU Buckeyes fan and she enjoyed a good card game with friends. A Christian, Charlotte was a former Girl Scout leader, and she liked to sew and make quilts for her family.

Surviving are her sons, Christopher Alan (Joni) Jones of Parish, FL and Craig Anthony Jones of Wheelersburg; her daughter, Nakia Dawn (Jonathan)Toppins-Peters of McDermott; a stepson, Carl (Leng) Toppins of North Anson, ME; two brothers, Robert (Elizabeth) Fairchild Jr. of Wheelersburg and  Michael Beckner of Portsmouth; two stepbrothers, Elton ‘Skip’ Martin and John Martin, both of Acworth, GA; 11 grandchildren, Christian Jones, Jourdan (Su) Jones, Vincent Jones, Krashawna (Keith) Stepp, Zakke Jones, Wendy (Jesse) Carll, Sandra Toppins, Christopher (Alyssa) Peters, Kathryn (Shawn) Stevens, Alexandra (Brandon) Willis and Ashli (Chris) McElroy; and six great-grandchildren, Zander, Skyla and Aria Stepp, Alexys (Richard) Crowell, Christopher Carleton, and Caden Carll; and a great-great grandson, Theoderic Crowell.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by a beloved grandson, Dustin Tyler Pack; and her sister, Loretta Faye Cline.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Dennis Dawes, Minister, officiating. Interment will be in Monroe Cemetery, in Oak Hill, OH.

The family will receive friends from 11 A.M until the service hour at the funeral home on Saturday.
