Around 11:30 pm, an Offnere Street Caller reported two young children walking alone. When the caller asked why the kids were out alone, one child said they were beaten by their parents and did not want to go home.
An officer caught up with the children at 7th and Offnere a few minutes later. At the same time, a woman called 9-1-1 to report her child missing.
Officers headed to the home to speak to the mother and advised her of her rights. Dispatch contacted CPS, but they said they would not respond but follow up at a later time.
Police took information for a report.
