Child Injured in Trash-Filled, Fly-Infested Home
Officers and EMS responded to a Portsmouth home after a report that a toddler hit his head into a wall while playing with his brother.
Police contacted CPS, and while medics agreed the tot’s injuries were consistent with an accident while playing and the kids in the home seemed well-cared for, police noted the home was in terrible shape.
Police said the place smelled, there were flies inside, and trash outside the home. The home was cluttered and dirty, and there was old food left lying about the house.
A CPS worker said they would make a visit to the home to follow up and officers advised the parents to clean the place up.
