A resident of an area children’s home claimed they were assaulted by a staff member. The child said the staff member came into his bedroom and hit his head against a wall.
Officers responded to the home to take witness statements, but other staff members told Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies a different story.
They said they saw no inappropriate behavior from the staff member toward the child. In fact, they said the child was trying to take something from another child and tried to punch the child. The staff member stepped in to separate the kids, and the boy tried to punch the staff.
The staff member accused of assault placed the boy in a restraint hold. Multiple people maintained there was no inappropriate conduct toward the child.
