Child Threatens to Shoot Parents

Deputies responded to a West Portsmouth home after a teen made a disturbing threat. The caller said the boy refused to go to school and threatened to shoot his family if they called the police about the issue.

The woman was not sure if the boy did indeed have a gun.

Deputies searched the bedroom and did not find a weapon. Officers advised the parents on the process of filing unruly charges against the teen.

Barking Dog Annoys Wheelersburg Neighbor

A Wheelersburg neighbor contacted deputies at 1:15 am to complain about a dog that continually barks and annoys residents of Sunrise Avenue.

The neighbor said they had spoken to the animal’s owners about the issue, but the family had so far done nothing. They requested a deputy to speak with the neighbor.

An officer went to the address and heard the dog barking out back. However, no one answered when they knocked on the door.

The deputy said they would attempt to speak to the dog owner before the end of the shift and suggest they bring the dog inside at night.
