Children Found Wandering in Wheelersburg
Police responded to People’s Bank in Wheelersburg after a caller reported finding a small child wandering around the parking lot. Employees took the child inside the bank to wait for officers.
While a deputy was responding to the call, they found another child in the middle of River Road. The deputy picked up that child and noted that the child was sunburned.
Officers learned that one of the children was an autistic child who had wandered away from Bible school and that the other child had wandered away from their grandparents.
Deputies said that in both cases, the kids appeared to have wandered away when adults weren’t looking.
