Children Removed From Unsafe Home, Parents Arrested

CPS

Portsmouth Police Officers and CPS workers rescued children from a potentially dangerous situation in a Wilson Street home on Sunday afternoon.

Just after 1 pm, a caller requested a welfare check. The caller was concerned that they hadn’t seen the kids in the home outside all day and that no one answered the door.

Police contacted CPS and responded to the scene. CPS determined that the house was unsafe for children to stay in and arranged for the kids to stay with a relative.

Officers arrested a man and a woman for child endangering. The woman was also charged with parole violation. This was her 13th arrest. The man faces one count of child endangering. He was released per the court.
