Clerks Sexually Harassed At Work: Portsmouth Police Reports

Clerks at a Portsmouth gas station reported being sexually harassed and a couple brawl over two dollars. We break down the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing. 

Bar Fight 

A caller reported a bar fight at Frank & Steins Lounge at 2:13 am. The caller said a man started hitting and threatening people in the bar and then left in a vehicle.

An officer stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of a pizza place. He said he was in a mutual fight at the bar. 

Since no one wanted to press charges and the man did not appear to be intoxicated, police released him. 

Diamond Left Behind

A woman called the police at 11 am to report she left a diamond ring in the back of a taxi and the driver said that he didn’t see the ring. 

She wanted officers to contact other passengers who used the taxi service after her. 

Suspicious Activity

Just before noon, a caller reported a man lying near the railroad tracks on Waller. Police spoke to a homeless man who lived in some nearby trees and advised him not to sleep on the tracks. 

Hey, That’s My Stuff!

At 2 pm, a Center Street caller reported that two tired were punctured overnight.

A Summit Street man reported his girlfriend stole his car at 3:42 pm. By the time police arrived, she’d returned with the car and the two were fighting. Police took the woman into custody.

Under the Influence

Two Dollar Fight

Officers were flagged down at 4th and Market Street at 4:51 pm for a report of a man and woman fighting. 

It turned out the pair were arguing over $2. Police advised everyone to calm down. The woman left in the direction of the Shawnee Apartments and the man walked off in the direction of Kroger.

Clerks Sexually Harassed

Clerks at the Speedway on Gallia reported a man keeps coming into the place, touching employees inappropriately, and saying sexual things to female employees. 

Police advised them to call officers immediately if the man comes back into the building. 

Unsafe Conditions

6th Street neighbors reported people inside a condemned home. Officers said it did not appear that anyone was inside, but that it was not safe to search the house.
