Clyde Hayes McClintic

Clyde Hayes McClintic, Jr., 69, of South Webster, OH, passed away peacefully on August 18th at SOMC Hospice, surrounded by family. Clyde was born in 1954 in Portsmouth, OH, to the late Clyde McClintic, Sr. and Virginia (Teegarden) McClintic.

Clyde was a graduate of South Webster High School and enjoyed working for Portsmouth Metropolitan Housing Authority where he retired in 2022. Prior to that he formerly worked at Harboson Walker Brickyard, William Coriell Construction, New Boston Coke and Dave Binion Construction. Clyde also loved his side jobs from painting houses, to landscaping and cutting grass. Clyde also enjoyed his motorcycle rides and taking his corvette to car shows.

Clyde is survived by his loving family; three daughters, Dawn Dew of South Webster, Shawna (Daniel) Brickey of South Webster, Jessica (Tom) Yanka of Heath, Ohio and a son, Adam (Tiffanie) McClintic of South Webster. 6 grandchildren; Cody Brickey, Grace Dew, Sophia & Jackson Yanka, Carson & Kingston McClintic.

Also surving are siblings John (Judy) McClintic, Jim (Barb) McClintic, Debbie McClintic, Sheila (Randy) Howard, David (Rhonda) McClintic and Dolores (Ray) Miller. 

In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by a brother Gary McClintic, two infant brothers Gerald & Derald McClintic and three nephews; Sean Miller, Todd McClintic and Austin McClintic.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 24, 2024 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster, OH. with Pastor Rick Arthur officiating. Burial services will follow at South Webster Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 PM and one hour prior to services on Saturday.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at SOMC Hospice for their care and compassion during this difficult time. Special thanks to at-home hospice caregiver, Leslie Deerfield Toland. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to SOMC Hospice in Clyde’s name.
