Portsmouth Police were called to Notre Dame High School on Sunrise Avenue just after 4 pm after a disturbing report of violence.
The caller said a man assaulted the coach right there on the football field.
Police took information for a report.

Tracy Park Trash Situation
Officers have had issues in recent weeks with homeless folks leaving trash in the area of the stage at Tracy Park.
Police stopped by that area at 10:31 am to look for a woman with an open warrant. They spoke to several homeless people while looking for the woman and spotted one man on the stage.
Officers reminded him that no one is allowed on the stage without a permit. While there was no trash on the stage, police did report that the trash cans were overflowing and needed to be emptied.
They were able to locate the woman they were searching for at 11th and Gay Street. Police took her into custody and served her with a warrant.
