Commissioners Blast Vacant House of Representatives Seat

Scioto County Commissioners are not happy that Ohio’s 90th District has been without a representative in the Statehouse for three months. The district includes Adams, Scioto, and parts of Brown County.

“It’s a horrible situation,” said County Commissioner Cathy Coleman. “What should be done is they get down to business and fill the seat.”

“It’s time to take action,” Commissioner Scottie Powell said. “We had one of the largest transportation budgets passed without representation from the 90th. They are now working on the budget. We still don’t have representation. They need to put some names up and let the caucus vote.”

Commissioner Bryan Davis agreed. “It is very frustrating. We have reached out to the speaker multiple times. We get no reply. Put the names up in the caucus.  Vote on them. Let’s get them in. It is very, very, very important.”  The commissioner said that over 100,000 Ohioans were left without representation in the state legislature. “It’s as simple as work together, make a vote, make it happen.”
