Just after 10 p.m., workers at the Rosemount Dollar General reported a man in pajamas sitting in front of the store. They said he’d been there for hours, and they were closing soon. They tried to talk him into leaving but he refused.

Earlier in the day, PPD received a report from a concerned relative in Florida that a man with mental health issues had gotten out of another family member’s car at SOMC and walked off. They feared he might be trying to walk back to his former home in Lucasville.

Deputies discovered this was the same fellow. They contacted a family member in Florida who arranged for a relative to pick up the man. Deputies transported him to the Rest Area on State Rt. 23 to meet a family member from Pike County who came to pick him up.
