Convicted Drug Trafficker Arrested After Knife and Gun Fight Reported In Farley Square

Multiple Portsmouth Police units responded to a report of a fight in Farley Square just after 7 pm. A caller said there were multiple people fighting at a 14th Street apartment and that they were armed with knives and guns.

The fight had broken up by the time officers arrived, though police did find a guy with an open warrant through the New Boston Police.

PPD notified PMHA management to resecure the open door to the apartment and New Boston served the man with his warrant and later released him.

Three hours later, three a woman and two men returned to the scene and began to kick the door in an attempt to get into the apartment.

When officers returned to the scene, they discovered a man with an open warrant from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. PPD arrested Maxwell McGuire for criminal trespass. PPD arrested McGuire back in February for parole violation.

He is currently on parole after serving time for drug trafficking and felonious assault. This was his ninth arrest in Scioto County.
