The Scioto County Coroner’s Office is investigating a weekend death in Wheelersburg.

Just before 10 am, deputies and EMS responded to a report of an unresponsive woman. Medics confirmed the woman was indeed deceased and initially, officers planned to release the body to a funeral home.
However, new information led officers to believe the matter required further investigation and the coroner requested a transport to take the deceased to Montgomery County for further forensic investigation by a medical examiner.
